Although London is a city of good service (usually expensive for most people worldwide), this hotel confirms the UK as one of several world kings of customer service. We asked for small extras during booking to make our Silver Anniversary more pleasant (park or palace view and bathtub room). However, the hotel decided to make our anniversary days more enjoyable with lovely gifts, including champagne, cake, and apples). Small details make the difference. Check-in/out is smooth and efficient, tea/water/cafe/cookies/hot chocolate is delivered daily, and room cleaning is done efficiently (without modern fake green cost-cutting techniques). The Chinese restaurant on the top floor is something. We had one of the best Peking ducks ever and enjoyed a fantastic city view. South Kensington is a perfect, reasonably priced location for sightseeing in London.

Location: lots of shops, pubs, and restaurants in the area. The beautiful Kensington Palace and its surrounding park is about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Bus stops located directly in front of the hotel, and the nearest tube station is a oh a five minute walk away. My fiancée and I felt safe walking around. Staff: very friendly front desk, doormen, concierge, and restaurant staff. Room: our room was a great size for me, my fiancée, our two large suitcases and two carry-on suitcases. I really liked that the floor wasn’t carpeted. We had a pretty nice view of the main street fronting the hotel. Breakfast: the breakfast is amazing.

Brilliant location next to Kensington Palace and close to High Street Kensington tube station for access to the whole of London and Heathrow Airport. The higher floors have nicer rooms and some have excellent views over the park towards The Albert Hall. Worth asking for one of those. Breakfast is great with nice range of fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals, pastries/croissants etc. Hot food OK but not worth the extra. Plenty of fresh juices and as much tea and coffee as you want. Staff at reception excellent and moved us up from floor 2 to floor 4 without a problem. Try floors 5_8 however.

What's not to like! A lovely elegant room with plenty of space and views over London. Perfect for walking or using public transport into Knightsbridge and Soho. Well equipped for the traveller with everything you could need. We opted for room service continental breakfast on our day of departure, and it was brilliant, arriving on a heated trolley with the toast, rolls and pastries lovely and crisp inside. The trolley had a leaf which was put up to allow us in effect to sit at table. Plenty of attention to detail, including a fresh gerbera in a vase - such a nice touch.

Great views over gardens and palace. Comfortable nice size room with twin beds if travelling with friends. Clean bathroom with nice finishings. Excellent location - quiet park and surrounding streets but close to high street for easy shopping. We were visiting friends in Notting Hill before Christmas- nice festive atmosphere. Would stay again for short break.
